BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Southern Jaguars 2023 football team looks a little different, especially after adding a running back from rival Alabama A&M.
“I know you think of a running back that they’re just going to run the football,” said Southern head coach Eric Dooley. “But, within his offense, you’ve got to be a pass catcher. And they do that.”
The Jaguars open their season on the road in Montgomery, Alabama against the Alabama State Hornets on Saturday, Sept. 2.
Southern’s first home game is the Pete Richardson Classic versus Jackson State on Sept. 9.
