The top-ranked LSU Tigers worked from behind, on the scoreboard, until the final frame for the Tiger batters on Friday night, in a 12-7 comeback win against UL-Monroe.
LSU trailed 3-0 after the first half-inning against the Warhawks, but the Tiger bats kept them in the ballgame until eventually taking the lead for good in the eighth inning.
The stars of the offense were two-fold: Daniel Cabrera and Antoine Duplantis. Cabrera emassed three hits, five runs batted in and two home runs on the night. Also with two diners, Duplantis was key in the 8th inning comeback with his grand slam to put the Bayou Bengals in front for the rest of the game.
Zack Hess had a less-than-stellar night on the mound as the starting pitcher: 3 2/3 innings pitched, six hits allowed with five earned runs on the night and two walked batters.
