Presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump won their respective primaries in Louisiana.
Saturday, Clinton got just over 71 percent of the vote from Democrats picking up 35 delegates, while Trump earned just over 41 percent of the vote from Republicans, earning 18 delegates.
We asked Baton Rouge voters if they were surprised by the results on Super Saturday.
“I voted for Trump because he funds his own campaign and he doesn’t accept money from big corporations and banks, and I am not surprised he won Louisiana because we appreciate truth in Louisiana,” said Trump supporter Jacob Juneau.
“I didn’t know Trump would make it so far you know, he’s such a no no person,” said Hillary Clinton supporter Betty Burell.
Trump is still the Republican front-runner, but last night Sen. Ted Cruz won more delegates with wins in Kansas and Maine.
For Clinton, Louisiana was her only win of the night, with Sen. Bernie Sanders picking up Nebraska and Kansas.
