Break out your Swatch watch and Members Only jacket! The Molly Ringwalds, the quintessential ‘80s tribute band, is set to rock the Mari Showroom on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10.00, and are on sale now.
Voted “Best Rock Band” throughout the Southern U.S., this crazy train time machine promises a night packed with more mind-blowing rock anthems than you can shake a Vegemite sandwich at.
Having crossed the pond from their hometown of Sheffield, England, and now residing in the U.S., The Molly Ringwalds’ blockbuster tours have consisted of sold-out shows across America and beyond. The group recently traveled to Texas for House of Blues stops in Dallas and Houston, and continued its tour of the South with a stop at House of Blues New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras.
“We’ve been playing the best of the ‘80s for some 14 years now and we absolutely live for spawning new legions of fans across the country, no matter where we are,” said Sir Devon Nooner, lead vocalist for The Molly Ringwalds. “One-hit wonders or not, it’s our job to make sure that these timeless songs go on living forever. I’m happy to say that, thanks in part to us, the music that defined an era is alive and well around the world.”
From Quiet Riot and Flock of Seagulls to the Pet Shop Boys, Prince and just about every other ‘80s staple you can imagine, The Molly’s bring back the iconic hits that defined a decade. The group has earned accolades across the continent, including “Best Rock Band” throughout Louisiana in New Orleans (twice), Baton Rouge and Lafayette, as well as in Pensacola, FL; Mobile, AL; and Jackson, MS.
Known for their uncanny recreations and downright unhealthy affinity for ‘80s super nostalgia, these five exceptional musicians are more than just some handsome Brits who know how to rock. They are talented artists, crowd-pleasing entertainers and world-class performers comfortable on any stage.
“We live to hear that rebel yell – to give ‘80s fans everywhere a chance to, for one night, relive their glory days and party like it’s 1985,” Nooner said. “Simply put, we’re all about having a good time and knockin’ about with anyone who loves the greatest decade of our lifetime as much as we do! It’s something you’ve just got to experience for yourself.”
