The Natchitoches Police Department has arrested a woman for striking two children with a chair while at a local park.

The incident happened back on Dec. 10 at John Below Park at the intersection of Dixie St. and Theophile Alley.

The victim told officers that she was approached by Shafonda Murphy about a fight that took place earlier in the day between their children.

Murphy told the victim to get her children and when she got them Murphy picked up a chair and hit two of the children with it.
