APD arrests local woman for battery

On January 24, 2016 Alexandria police arrested Tyrah M. Burgess of Alexandria, and charged her with:

1 Count – Aggravated Second Degree Battery

On January 22, 2016 A.P.D. officers were dispatched to a local hospital in reference to an investigation. Upon arrival, officers spoke to male subject, who was later determined be a victim of a physical altercation.

The investigation found that during this altercation, which occurred at an unknown location, the victim was stabbed by a female identified as Tyrah M. Burgess.

Burgess was also injured during the incident and required surgery.

A.P.D. detectives were called out to further the investigation. Detectives were able to secure a warrant of arrest for Burgess, who was taken into custody without incident after being released from the hospital.

Burgess was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center for booking.
