APD arrests Alexandria man for robbery and other charges

On June 26, 2015 at 6:56 a.m. – Alexandria Police responded to a reported vehicle burglary in the 700 Block of Monroe Street. Upon arrival, officers contacted the complainant/victim who reported while doing some scheduled work, he observed a male subject inside his vehicle. The victim stated he approached the subject and asked what he was doing inside his truck.

The subject stated nothing and attempted to walk off. The victim saw that the subject had his personal belongings, including a cell phone. The victim grabbed his cell phone and following a struggle, the subject fled. Police were given a description of the subject and located him nearby.

Earl Bennett Jr., 47, who’s address is listed as homeless was taken into custody with further incident, arrested and transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center where he was booked for:

1 count -Burglary of a Vehicle
1 count -Simple Robbery
1 count -Resisting an Officer
1 count -Simple Assault
