On October 14, 2015 at 10:06 P.M., Alexandria Police were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 1400 Block of King Arthur Blvd. in reference to a vehicle burglary. Upon arrival, contact was made with an off duty Rapides Sheriff’s Deputy who was working a security detail at this same location.

The Deputy stated while making rounds, he noticed a male subject inside a vehicle which looked suspicious. Upon contacting the subject, he fled. The Deputy inspected the vehicle which appeared to have been burglarized. A.P.D. was notified and a description of the subject was given to responding units.

A.P.D. officers detained a subject matching the description given in the parking lot of a nearby grocery store a few minutes later. A.P.D. Detectives were called out to assist in the investigation which resulted in connecting the subject to five (5) vehicle burglaries at this location. Several items taken in these burglaries were recovered.

Zach Durison, 20 of Alexandria, was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center and booked on:

5 Counts – Simple Burglary
1 Count – Trespasing

As this investigation continued, A.P.D. detectives were able to connect Durison to additional burglaries that occurred during the above referenced investigation and arrested him while he was still incarcerated on the original charge.

Durison was rebooked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on:

2-Counts of Simple Burglary

This investigation is ongoing and no other details are available for release at this time.
