The Allstate Sugar Bowl Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) Top 28 Basketball State Championships will be held at the Burton Coliseum Complex March 8-12.
“The Burton Coliseum and the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury are thrilled to have the opportunity to host the Boys Top 28 Basketball Championships for another two-year period. Our event staff and team of community volunteers look forward to this opportunity to welcome the fans and players who enjoy the experience. We look forward to another successful year of the state’s top teams battling it out during Marsh Madness,” said Jason Barnes, Burton Coliseum General Manager.
“We are excited to have these athletes and their families back in Southwest Louisiana where 7 champions will be awarded over the course of the week long basketball tournament,” said Shelley Johnson, executive director of the Lake Charles/Southwest Louisiana Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We look forward to the exposure for the entire area since the LHSAA Boys Top 28 championships will bring over 40,000 people to Southwest Louisiana’s restaurants, accommodations and attractions. We could not have done it without the support from the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury and their recent renovations to the Burton Complex and all the volunteers who assist during the championships.”
“The LHSAA is proud to bring the Boys Top 28 back to the Burton Coliseum Complex,” said LHSAA Executive Director, Eddie Bonine. “Through the hard work of the Lake Charles/Southwest Louisiana Convention and Visitors Bureau and Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, combined with amazing community support, we know our student-athletes, schools and their fans are in for a memorable experience,” he added.
The Boys Top 28 Semi-Finals will be held March 8-10 followed by the Finals March 11-12.
