A.P.D. confirms the arrest of an officer on February 2, 2016 by the Pollock Police Department and the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Department.

Cpl. Chance Farace, a 6 year veteran assigned to patrol, was taken into custody and booked into the Grant Parish Jail following a domestic abuse complaint. We understand the charges to be:

1) Domestic Abuse Strangulation

2) False Imprisonment

3) Resisting an Officer

This is Farace’s second Domestic Violence related incident. The first event, which occurred also in Grant Parish in 2015, was concluded within the Court and the mandated Civil Service Discipline Systems.

Although, we cannot comment directly as to personnel matters – in such cases it is appropriate to place the employee on Administrative Leave within the Civil Service pending a full internal investigation and in many cases the conclusion of the criminal inquiry and the judicial proceedings. Public trust and integrity are paramount concerns within our Department and our industry. We will not nor should the public accept anything less.
