Attorney General James D. “Buddy” Caldwell announced Friday that an Alexandria man has been charged with multiple sex crimes against juveniles.
Damien Leonte Patrick, 22, was arrested Thursday on one count of computer-aided solicitation of a minor and one felony count each of carnal knowledge of a juvenile, possession of pornography involving juveniles and indecent behavior with a juvenile.
Investigators with the Attorney General’s Cyber Crime Unit opened the investigation into Patrick on Nov. 24 after receiving a lead from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Investigators learned that Patrick was using social media sites to meet juveniles living in close proximity for sexual contact. It was also discovered that Patrick had enticed a juvenile to send him a sexually explicit image.
The arrest was a result of a joint investigation involving the Attorney General’s Cyber Crime Unit, Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office and Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Patrick was booked into the Rapides Parish Jail. If convicted, he faces up to 47 years in prison.
