Lagniappe Theatre Company announces its first production of 2016—School of Rock

Lagniappe Theatre is one of a select few in the nation, and one of only three in the entire south, who have gained the rights to do this youth only production as it just recently opened on Broadway in December.  This musical, based on the movie of the same name starring Jack Black, is packed full of high energy, hilarious antics, and kids playing instruments live on stage!  The story follows wannabe rock star, Dewey Finn, who poses as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school.  When he discovers his students’ musical talents, he enlists them to form a rock group and help conquer the Battle of the Bands.  The lead character is played by newcomer, Zxavier Tre Price, lead singer of the All Is Lost Band.  His incredible vocals, along with the brilliant cast of kid actors and singers, make this production the most exciting one yet for Lagniappe Theatre!
