The Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control Agents have completed their annual Summer Crackdown. Agents sent undercover operatives into businesses throughout the entire state that hold a permit from ATC to attempt to purchase alcohol and tobacco products. The undercover operatives that were used were mostly 16 and 17 years old. Out of the 5,474 compliance checks that were conducted during the Summer Crackdown, 4,653 were responsible and did not sell to the minor. Earlier this week, ATC released the names of the businesses and servers that did sell alcohol and/or tobacco to an underage operative.
“ATC would like to recognize and commend those businesses and servers who are selling and serving alcohol and tobacco responsibly. They are doing their part to keep these substances out of kids’ hands,” said ATC Commissioner Troy Hebert.
