2017 Indoor Games to take place this weekend

BATON ROUGE, La. (WVLA) - Nearly 850 Special Olympics Louisiana athletes, hundreds of volunteers, family members, and staff invite the public to attend the 2017 State Indoor Games. 

LSU Gymnastics Coach, D-D Breaux, will serve as Honorary Coach alongside broadcasting personality, Clay Young, as the Master of the Ceremonies. Law Enforcement Officers, Special Olympics Louisiana athletes, volunteers, staff will also be present. 

The event will begin Friday, March 3 and last until Sunday, March 5. 


- Friday 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

- Saturday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

- Sunday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Highlights include Opening Ceremonies, Parade of Athletes, the lighting of the Olympic Flame of Hope, Special Olympics, the fun and entertaining Olympic Town and Healthy Athletes, Closing Ceremonies, tennis clinics, and a dance.
