BATON ROUGE, La. (WVLA) - LSU designated hitter Bryce Jordan will miss the 2017 season with the Tigers due to a knee injury, head coach Paul Mainieri announced to the media on Wednesday.

The junior from Lake Charles suffered the injury in practice earlier in the week while chasing a fly ball.

"Bryce only knows one way to play the game: full speed," Mainieri told Geaux Nation's Taylor Halsey.

Mainieri said Jordan will see a specialist this week and most likely undergo surgery on the injured knee.

Bryce Adams and Jordan Romero are the two most likely contenders for taking over Jordan's role this season.
