Little Walter Music Festival provides fun-filled Memorial Day weekend

ALEXANDRIA, La. (Press Release) - The Little Walter Music Festival will provide a fun-filled Memorial Day weekend in Cenla.

The Little Walter Music Festival honors the blues musician who's roots are in Central Louisiana. Little Walter, a.k.a. Walter Jacobs, was born in Avoyelles Parish and raised in Alexandria. He was an American blues musician, singer and songwriter, whose revolutionary approach to the harmonica had impact on generations to come, and earned him comparisons to the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Charlie Parker. Little Walter was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008, the only artist to be inducted specifically as a harmonica player.

Staying true to the purpose of the Little Walter Music Festival, the entire weekend will include a variety of musical genres. From Delta Blues, Texas Hill Country Blues, Jazz, Boogie, Funk, Swamp Music, Southern Soul, Blues Rock, Zydeco, and all around feel good music!
